Born and raised in San Francisco, Jeanne McGee moved to Minneapolis after receiving her MFA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. At UW she studied printmaking, focusing on woodcut prints. Her interest in nature and the rich and varied landscapes of the places she has lived, including California, Montana, Alaska and Wisconsin, have greatly influenced her work. Jeanne has taught printmaking at Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis and Belvoir Terrace, a fine arts camp for girls, in Massachusetts. Currently, Jeanne maintains her studio in her Minneapolis home.
