Karen Owsley Nease is a painter whose artwork is about the land and her connections to it. Originally from the Kansas City area, she moved to Duluth in 2013 to be near Lake Superior. A lifelong painter with interests in design, Karen earned a BFA in Painting/Printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute, and two architectural degrees from the University of Kansas. She is co-owner of the contemporary Joseph Nease Gallery in Duluth. Her work is in corporate, museum, and private collections in Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
