GMAC window October is the month we celebrate our extraordinary members who keep art thriving in our community. Art Colony members play a critical role in our financial health as only one third of our budget is covered by class tuition - the remaining portion must be raised through membership, grants and other sources.

We hope you will join us as a member,
student and/or art lover sometime this month. Thank you for supporting the Grand Marais Art Colony.
Event Recap: Plein Air Grand Marais
It was standing room only at the 10th Annual Plein Air Grand Marais opening reception on Friday, September 14.

Over 200 paintings were turned in by the 53 participating artists after a week of painting - the results were amazing. The show ended on Sept. 30 but don't fret, you can still view the work online.

Also, WDSE's The Playlist won an Upper Midwest Emmy for it's production of "The Brush Off" created at the 2011 Plein Air. Wow, congratulations to The Playlist for a job well done!
