Call for Artists


Call for Artists. Altered Esthetics's Resident Artists IX: In Rule of Thirds. Three is a powerful number in science, religion, music, and the arts. For our 9th annual artist exhibition, artists incorporate the number three or triptychs. For more info.  


Call for Proposals. The Walker Art Center requests a call for artists for artist-designed Mini Golf in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Summer 2013. Deadline: November 30. For more info.   


Call for Proposals. To create one or more public artwork(s) for the Two Harbors Public Library. The artworks will celebrate one or more community-specific, artistic, cultural and/or historical attribute(s) and be placed in high-traffic locations either inside or outside the library for all to enjoy. Deadline: December 15. For more info.      


Call for Artists. "Just Figures"  Artists are invited to enter their expressions of the human form for this non-juried show. Accepted media include paint, sculpture, and photography when combined with another medium. For more info.  


Call for Artists. The Paradise Center Healing Arts Program at District One Hospital is looking for fourteen 2D artists to be featured for 3-month exhibits. The purpose of the program is to feature art that contributes to the healing atmosphere of District One Hospital. For more info

What is happening at the Art Colony in November? Lots! This month we have the Empty Bowls dinner occurring on November 8th, the Member Show is on exhibit open daily until the 21st, and we are getting in the spirit with Holiday Themed Classes.

If you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop by for a cup of coffee and browse through our gift shop. 
Empty Bowls  


An annual art fundraiser for the local food shelf organized by the Art Colony. The bowls have been made, glazed, painted and fired. Now it is time to fill them with soup!

Join us Thursday, November 8 for the
Empty Bowls meal. Two seatings available:
- LUNCH from 11:30am-1pm
- DINNER from 5pm-7pm
Silent Auction for Empty Bowls ends promptly at 6pm. Lots of gift cards, beautiful bowls and more!

$10/suggested donation for the food shelf.

Event Recap: Annual Member Show 
70 artist members participated in this year's annual Member Show. Artists of all ages, skill levels and medias.

Another great show at the Art Colony - the annual Member Show is on display until November 21 in the Founders Hall from 9am-4pm daily. Stop by for a cup of coffee and see it for yourself.

January Studio Intensive   
The Art Colony is seeking interested Visual Artists looking for space to create for the month of January.  
Looking for time & space to create?

The Art Colony is considering hosting a studio intensive during the month of January depending on interest. Basic concept: 6-8 artists would pay a small fee to have 24 hour access and use of the visual art studio and equipment during the month of January. Tentative dates: Jan 2-28, acceptance will be determined based on a short application.

The Art Colony needs enough interest in order for this opportunity to occur, so please contact the office by Nov. 15 if you think you might want to participate. We will then determine final details.
