Encaustic Painting and Collage
August 9-10, 2014; 2 days; 9 am - 4 pm
Location: Glass Studio
Encaustic painting is an ancient medium that combines molten beeswax and pigment to achieve luminous color and tactile surfaces. Students will explore how encaustic painting can be used with collage to develop imagery. Possible collage materials include photographs, drawings, found papers, and organic material. Additionally we will explore black and white transfers as well as color image transfers. All painting materials are provided. Students should bring a wide variety of collage materials. Open to all levels of experience.
This class can be taken with Encaustic Collagraph on August 11 – 13.
This class will be cancelled on Monday, August 4, 2014,
if minimum student enrollment has not been met. Please register before this date.
