July 30 - 31, 2016; 1.5 days; Day 1: 9am - 4pm; Day 2: 9am - Noon
Location: Glass Studio
Who says you can’t make art and eat it too? Students will learn the traditional Japanese art form of Gyotaku, or “fish rubbing.” Each participant will create fine, detailed mono prints using local fish, rice paper, inks, and acrylics. The finished work will be applied to stretched canvas using rice glue made in class. We’ll end with a dinner of studio-made fish chowder. Students will go home with one finished print and a full belly.
This class will be cancelled on Monday, July 25, 2016
, if minimum enrollment is not met. Please register before this date.
