Transfers & Transform: Fiber Arts Collage with Disperse Dyes
August 30-31, 2014; 2 days; 9am - 4pm
Location: Eco-Friendly Print Studio
Create a unique wall hanging from your personal imagery while learning about highly versatile transfer dyes. Students will create a series of quick-sketches to inspire designs, which will be translated into collages using prepared transfer dye papers. Kimber will then instruct on how to print designs onto cloth or non-traditional materials (like aluminum!) with a heat press. The dye colors transform from drab to dynamic during the sublimation process. After printing, students will arrange their small collages into larger compositions, which will be hand-stitched, wired and/or fused into a completed wall hanging.
This class will be cancelled on Monday, August 25, 2014
, if minimum enrollment is not met. Please register before this date.
