April 7 - 28, 2015; 4 Tuesdays; 9am - Noon
Location: Founders Hall
Bring in a photo of your favorite subject and practice the art of portraiture. Jan will lead students through the Old Master techniques of gridding and observing proportions. Students will then use this approach with their subject of choice. The final drawing will be transferred to canvas and blocked in with raw sienna which, along with three other colors, allows for a full range of subtle flesh tones. By using this simple but effective method, students will end up with a life-size (12 x 12-inch) portrait and the tools to continue painting portraits.
This class will be cancelled on Tuesday, March 31, 2015
, if minimum enrollment is not met. Please register before this date.
