Make a Mark
March 28, 2015; 9am - Noon
Location: Eco-Friendly Print Studio
Join Marty for a morning of mark making and explore alternative approaches to rendering a subject, be it landscape, still life, or portrait. Working with natural and found materials, Marty will teach participants to build their own brushes, pens, stamps, and stencils, and generate pages of unique marks and patterns. Inspired primarily by postcards and other landscape references, participants will use their pages of marks to build collaged imagery. Marty will guide participants to consider marks as description, marks as characters, and marks as expression.
This class is part of the Art Colony's 2015 Artist-in-Residence.
