May 22 - 26, 2017; 5 days; 9am - 4pm
Location: Eco-Friendly Print Studio
Solarplate printing is an exciting, spontaneous technique that uses UV light and water instead of traditional grounds and acids and yields highly professional results. Learn from master printmaker, Dan Welden, the early pioneer of safer and healthier printmaking. The Solarplate accepts all kinds of drawings, paintings, or photographic images on acetate, photocopies, and/or digital positives from transparent film. Artists can experience painting freely and directly on the Solarplate surface and create a matrix capable of yielding many impressions. Alternatively, artist can work through traditional or digital approaches on transparent film or specially prepared “grained” glass. Participants will be able to produce several 8 x 10-inch images during this intensive class and larger plates are available with prior request.
This class will be cancelled on April 21, 2017
, if minimum enrollment is not met. Please register before this date. Note the early cancellation date.
