From Sketchbook to Stitchery
September 2 - 4, 2017; 3 days; 9 am - 4 pm
Location: Founders Hall
Working from photos of natural elements as well as collected items such as driftwood, bark, and lichen, students will create a unique piece of fiber art. Julie will teach a variety of collage methods to help transform the chosen photos or natural objects into sketches and studies. After the design part is complete students will learn a variety of stitches and use various yarns, ripped fabric, textured yarns, and sari ribbon, among others, to create both samples and a finished piece.
