Looking at Landscape
August 19 - 20, 2017; 2 days; 9am - 4pm
Location: Founders Hall
How are landscapes perceived and experienced? What role do artists play at the intersection of nature and culture? Lynn will guide students through an investigation of landscape art by looking at a variety of scientific, historical, and cultural perspectives. Students will participate in art-making exercises to illustrate their own experiences with landscape. Traditional and contemporary concepts of landscape art will be overviewed and Lynn will facilitate discussion to help inform students’ experience of place. No previous art experience necessary.
