Integrating Stone and Metal

Nationally renowned jewelry designer, metalsmith, and lapidary artist, Michael Boyd, integrates metal into rock and enjoys finding creative ways to make this concept work in materials that range from simple river rock to gemstones combined with precious metals. Students will learn a variety of techniques to alter stone and metal at the bench. Michael will teach various processes and methods, and students will create alternative settings for stones and create a series of samples.
