Torch-working is a form of glassblowing utilizing a torch to melt the glass. This class will focus on this technique and borosilicate glass, which has a higher melting point than other art glass. Students will learn a brief history of torch-working, safety issues, tool and equipment use, as well as beginner techniques that will allow the student to leave the class with multiple small projects such as pendants, icicles and marbles. Highly detailed demonstrations and explanations will be given as well as individual attention to troubleshooting.
