Andrew will give foundational guidance through the key stages of developing a drawing as well as how to employ different techniques in handling drawing materials. Instruction includes an overview of how values, shapes, and edges can be used on a two-dimensional surface to create the impression of three dimensions. Students will apply new learned techniques by creating a simple still life study in either charcoal or graphite.

This class is part of the Foundational Series suitable for students with no experience or who want to try a medium for the first time.
