Health & Safety Protocol

Health & Safety

Updated April 24, 2024

While you are at the Art Colony, your health and safety are a top priority. We continue to follow guidance released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Minnesota, and the Cook County Public Health Department on contagious illnesses.

In order to ensure the health and safety of our students, artists-in-residence, instructors, visitors, and staff, we observe the following protocols:

  • GMAC will use HEPA-approved air filtration units during classes and events and open doors and windows for natural ventilation when possible.
  • Students agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of any contagious illness.
  • If you are experiencing symptoms please take caution in attending class or participating in a residency. Reach out to the Art Colony should this be the case.
  • The Art Colony cannot provide medical care or transportation to care facilities.
  • GMAC reserves the right to terminate access to studio space for any or all participants if it determines that our safety protocols have not been followed, or that the safety and health of staff, students, the instructor, and others may be at risk.
  • All buildings are outfitted with fire alarms as well as extinguishers and each studio has a first aid kit.
  • Staff have been provided with a health and safety orientation.
  • Anyone staying overnight in the Art Colony guest suite is provided with emergency phone numbers and protocol.
