Our world is full of endless opportunities for discovery and engaging our surroundings from different angles only enriches those explorations. In this class, we will engage the beauty of the North Shore through drawing and by looking at the macro and micro elements to visually interpret the landscape as well as the delicate detail of the flora. Using a variety of pens (brush and 005), pencils, and watercolors, we will work on technical creative skills, including understanding proportion, perspective drawing, texture, color, and composition. Sarah will also lead discussion on how to ask questions in order to make our work our own and a personal expression of our experience in that place. This class is less about technical perfection, and more about developing greater skills in observation and visual exploration.

Prerequisite: this class will be spending a good chunk of time outdoors and students will need to have good mobility traversing uneven and rocky terrain.
