Open Studio: Megan Vossler & Holly Swift

Join us for a studio tour with two of our current artists-in-residence, Megan Vossler and Holly Swift. During her residency at the Art Colony, Megan will work with botanical inks from foraged materials, along with graphite and watercolor mark making materials, to respond to the lake, the weather, and the landscape. Holly will work on site and in the studio, specifically with Cascade State Park subject matter in order to progress a series of drawings and paintings.
Megan Vossler
Megan received her BA from Brown University (Rhode Island), and her MFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her artwork has been exhibited nationwide, including shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and the Wooster Art Museum in Ohio. Megan has been a recipient of several prestigious awards, including a Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists, a McKnight Artists Fellowship for Visual Artists, a Jerome Foundation Travel and Study grant, and three Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grants. She teaches drawing at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN.
Holly SwiftÂ
A Native of Illinois, Holly received an MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago. She has 25 years of teaching experience in Drawing, Painting and Design, including at Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Hamline University here in Minnesota. Holly has been a visiting artist at various schools in the community offering workshops in painting and drawing in the landscape and most recently an interdisciplinary workshop with Linda Gammell, a photographer, and Robert Bergad a Botanist introducing the creative process through sketchbooks and visual journals.
