Skyscapes in Watercolor

Have you ever seen a “watercolor sky” and wondered how you would paint it? This class will give you a chance to try it out. Focusing on the sky as the main subject, we will work with concepts of complementary contrast, value contrast and wet–into–wet technique to build luminous skies. Learn how to add vibrant color and drifting clouds to the skies and to create those deep blue or sunset skies. A couple of hours will be worked into the schedule for outdoor sky sketching.

Prerequisite: Foundational watercolor experience, including working with a variety of washes, color mixing, and basic drawing skills.
