Painting outdoors is exhilarating because you get to stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air, and immerse yourself in inspirational subjects. While inspiration runs high when painting outside, sometimes the amount of material to paint from can be overwhelming. In this workshop students will learn to select a subject and simplify it utilizing the strength of large value shapes. Then, it’s easier to loosen up and be confident using fluid washes and expressive brushwork. There will be a plein air demonstration each morning and afternoon, with plenty of time for students to paint. Note that this class is largely an outdoor painting class.
