This workshop will explore the relationship of the figure to the landscape as represented in oils, acrylics or watercolors. Charles will teach students a variety of approaches to incorporating figures into a landscape. Figures can be human forms, but also animals or inanimate objects, such as vehicles or a piece of clothing, if highlighted in the right way. Students should bring reference material (photographs or sketches) or plan to develop imagery during the workshop. Working outside on location is possible if weather is compatible. Prerequisite: Students should have a working practice in one of the above media.
This class is part of the Art Colony’s 2020 – 2021 theme of habitat, exploring our natural homes and those we share them with.
