Ben Fiess is an artist with a broad curiosity of many materials and the perception of them. His formal education has focused on ceramics and his interests include color, ceramic chemistry, and surface design, along with textiles and clothing. Ben received a BFA in Ceramics from UW-Whitewater and an MFA in Ceramics from Indiana University, during which time he developed an online glaze and clay body database. He has taught ceramics classes at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, Guilford College in Greensboro, and Indiana University.
