Mary Brodbeck

Mary Brodbeck learned the traditional methods of Japanese woodblock printmaking in Japan from Yoshisuke Funasaka in 1998. The calm aesthetic and Zen-like qualities of her landscape prints have garnered widespread acclaim and can be found at the Detroit Institute of Arts and in many other public and private holdings worldwide. She has taught nationally and internationally including: Frogman’s Press (Nebraska), Sierra Nevada University (Nevada), Japan Center for Michigan Universities (Hikone, Japan), and Ottawa School of Art (Ontario, Canada).
