Student Resource Page

WELCOME!

We gather that by visiting this page you are either coming to join us for an upcoming event or you are interested in doing so. Either way we are delighted!

For over 75 years the Art Colony has made its home on the North Shore of Lake Superior and many from across the country have come to call us one of their creative homes. We hope that becomes true for you as well!

Registration and Admission Policy

The Art Colony welcomes all students regardless of age, race, gender, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation or disability. Adult classes are open to students ages 16 and older, unless otherwise noted. Contact the Art Colony if special circumstances apply. We ask that students note the skill levels outlined for each individual class and honor any prerequisites.

Please read through our Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility by clicking here.

Cancellation Policy

Adult Classes

Upon registration a 25% non-refundable deposit is applied. Students who have paid full tuition and supply fees and cancel 45 days or more in advance of the class start will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable deposit. Students who have only paid the deposit are not eligible for a refund.

No refunds are given within 45 calendar days of the class start date, but students do have the option to transfer their tuition payment to another class for a $100 fee.

If the Art Colony cancels a class, students will be refunded in full.

Youth Classes

Students who cancel more than 14 days in advance of the class start date will receive a full refund. No refunds are given within 14 days of the class start date.

Entry Points

Students who cancel more than 14 days in advance of the class start date will receive a full refund. No refunds are given within 14 days of the class start date.

CEUs and Independent Study Credit

Certified educational credits are provided upon request and class completion to primary and secondary educators, therapists, and others looking to complete continuing education requirements.

Art Colony classes qualify for college credit when approached as independent study projects in conjunction with a degree program. Interested students should consult with their academic counselors prior to enrolling.

Class Materials & Supplies
Prior to your class and once the minimum enrollment has been met, the Art Colony will email you a confirmation letter and supply list. The supply list can also be found on your class web page.

We recommend that you order well in advance to ensure you have what you need.

If you are purchasing supplies locally, we recommend Joy & Company. Please note that they do not sell art supplies online; you will need to connect with them via telephone, email or in-person.

If you have ordered supplies through the Art Colony, we will refund your supply fee if your registration is canceled 45-days prior to the start of the class. If you cancel less than 45-days prior, the supply fee is not refundable.
